slip cast vessels

The vessels; bold shapes & colours inspired by craft and design of the 50s, 60s and 70s. They have tactile surface patterns which were created by moulding handmade quilted textiles.

I tend to work with 'families' of objects; I love the journey of clay through the slip cast process to the finished piece. Tell tale signs of its 'life' be it a finger print, density of cast or seam line suggests its roots, individuality and belonging...just like people!
